How big is that baseball bat you have bolted to the front of that thing...

Put some elevons and maybe a vertical stabilizer between the bottom shelf and the top shelf and you might be able to fly that table...
maybe take the vise off for balancing purposes?

Trying to get everything except the radios/batteries so I can see what I need to do for CG. Going to build a real simple CG jig. Graphics are a little off in size but that's ok. I don't plan to be entering any scale contest. The 3d printed strut covers worked well and I 3d printed mounts for the wheel pants.

Yea I downloaded him online. I adjusted him for size and he was huge. I had to do it a second time. I printed his arms same scale and they did not look right so I printed the arms slightly smaller.

I made a very simple jig for locating the CG. This will help with placement of everything. I used a round aluminum rod rubber banded to the spars. The center of the rod is located on the desired CG. A simple stand I can move forward or back until it balances. Simple.

I always found it difficult balancing low wing planes up right and was wondering how you got it to balance. I understand now after looking over the second photo.

making stuff like that jig is half the fun for me....

i was confused at first until, like Tony, I saw the last photo, realizing you have the wings pulled out....

I have a lathe but that was just tubing cut and welded with grinder. I am pretty good with basic metals. I restored the NASCAR in the background which included cutting off the old steel body and fabricating a new steel body among other things. The NASCAR is going to be auctioned of at Mecum Indy mid May.

I may get my wife's scale so I can can see what it weighs. It will allow me to calculating balance of the rest of the components.

Ran some initial numbers on the CG. I am paying for putting 2 servos in the tail as I expected. Fuel and smoke tank will go on CG. I will have to work hard to keep everything as forward as I can. Laying it out as I have done in the spreadsheet brings me to needing 21oz in the nose. I think I can get some stuff further forward than listed but this gives me a good outline of what I am up against.
